After this nice weekend, are you ready for our annual Chicago wide party? On Saint Patrick’s day, we not only paint the town green, we paint the whole river too.
The party started this weekend with the Parade on Columbus, and our annual dyeing of the Chicago river. Wearin’ o the green takes on real meaning in Chicago. And here’s an inside tip – for those of you who favor orange, well, the dye used in the river is originally orange/yellow, but when it soaks into the river it changes to green.
Go figure. It’s magic.
The parade and river festivities were scheduled for the weekend to favor families enjoying them, and not have to pull children from school. But the party continues. Here’s a link to some pub crawling you can do between now and tomorrow. Not just Guinness, but great food and Irish music too. Our Irish culture lives here year round in Chicago, discover it now.
The beautiful thing about Chicago is how we celebrate so many different cultures, and come together as one great city. And now, there are some beautiful opportunities to live here and own your home in the heart of it all.
